Delete your account and your data
How to delete your account and your data from Sparks, the unofficial app for electric and hybrid Renault, Dacia and Alpine cars (iPhone, Android and the car screen), published by Astella Agency.
Your Sparks account is tied to your My Renault, My Dacia or My Alpine account: deleting your Sparks data doesn’t delete that account, or anything stored by Renault.

The iPhone app is in French: its button names are shown as they appear on screen, with a translation. The Android and car apps are multilingual: their button names are given in English.
On iPhone
- Open Sparks and go to Réglages (Settings).
- Tap Supprimer mon compte (Delete my account).
- Tick the confirmation box, then confirm.
Sparks then deletes, on its server, the data for every car in your garage, then everything kept on the phone and the watch.
On Android
- Open Sparks and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Tick “I understand this is permanent”, then confirm.
Sparks then deletes, on its server, the data for every car in your garage, then everything kept on the phone.
If it failsOn iPhone and Android alike, if the server doesn’t answer, or if Renault won’t let us read all your garages at that moment, nothing is deleted and the app offers to try again.
2 On the car screen
In the car
- Go to Settings › Unpair this screen.
- Choose “Unpair and erase the car’s data”, then confirm.
The car first tries, for a minute at most, to send any pending files. Then recording stops, the server is told and cuts off the screen’s access, and the car deletes what the app kept there: trip and charge summaries, files that couldn’t be sent, technical log, map images.
- If the car had no signal at that moment, also unlink the screen from your phone: it immediately loses access to your account on the server.
- You can also uninstall the Sparks app from the car: everything it kept there is deleted. The server isn’t told in that case: unlink the screen from your phone.
3 Without the app, by email
If you no longer have the app or the car, write to privacy@sparksapp.fr:
- from the email address of your My Renault, My Dacia or My Alpine account, if you still have the car;
- giving the serial number (VIN) of each car concerned;
- if you’ve sold the car, attaching your old registration certificate or the certificate of sale, in your name: we then delete the data from the period you owned it. Your documents are deleted once your request has been handled.
We reply within one month, and confirm the deletion by email.
4 What gets deleted
For each car concerned, on the Sparks server:
- your trips and their start and end positions;
- your charges and their curves, the recorded range;
- tracking of the car and your Renault session key;
- your preferences and notification history;
- pending commands;
- the car screen pairing, the brand account kept with it, and all its trip files (readings and GPS);
- your trip tags, their names and your journeys;
- the key to the code that replaces your car’s number in the server log;
- recent readings, test copies from the new reading system, counters and small service data linked to the car.
Really goneData is actually overwritten on the server, not just marked as deleted.
Then the app deletes what the phone keeps (history, prices, tags, preferences, session key, PIN, images) and, on iPhone, what the Apple Watch keeps. On Android, if you’d turned the weather off, it stays off.
5 What’s kept, and for how long
Some data isn’t deleted straight away, and disappears on its own at the end of its retention period:
| Data | Why it stays | Deleted after |
|---|---|---|
| Server log (requests, IP address, the car’s code, which can no longer be linked to it after deletion; except lines from before 21 October 2026, which keep the number in clear, and lines from 21 to 23 October 2026, which can still be linked to the car) | Security and fixing faults | 90 days |
| Technical log summaries (car number replaced by a code) | Technical monitoring of the server | 90 days (the private GitHub repository’s history keeps a trace) |
| Host backups | Recovery after a failure | 30 days |
| IP addresses of the internal dashboard | Monitoring that the service works | 190 days |
| Phone registered for notifications (not linked to your cars) | Sending notifications | 180 days without opening the app |
| Monthly totals of the public statistics (sums over at least 5 cars) | They can no longer identify anyone | Kept indefinitely |
Not affected
- your brand account and what’s stored by Renault (your charge schedule, for example): that’s managed in your brand’s app;
- a car that’s no longer in your garage: write to us to have your ownership period deleted;
- what the car app keeps in the car, until it’s uninstalled.
